Overview
As a Disrepair Surveyor you will assess properties, documenting building pathology and defects to support housing repairs and claims. You will engage residents, manage complex repair cases end-to-end, and liaise with multiple stakeholders, including potential court involvement. The role combines inspection, reporting, and evidence gathering to improve residents’ housing conditions. You will work in a fast-moving, supportive council environment with hybrid arrangements and a strong focus on making a real difference.

Responsibilities
- Inspect properties and assess building pathology
- Write concise reports and capture photographic evidence
- Compile witness statements for court when required
- Manage repair works from inception to completion
- Hold a caseload and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Attend court and provide evidence of findings when necessary
- Engage residents to support housing improvements
Key requirements
- Good understanding of building pathology, hazards and defects
- Methodical and enquiring approach
