A great opportunity has arisen to join Bristol City Council’s Data and Insight Team at an exciting time as we develop our Azure Fabric Data and Analytics Platform. You will join a team providing corporate wide data and analytics to achieve the strategic objective of becoming increasingly data driven to facilitate better decision making.
We require an enthusiastic, self‑motivated and experienced Data Engineer that will be responsible for the loading and transformation of data from source systems into our Azure Fabric environment. You will have good experience and a strong understanding of developing and maintaining data loading pipelines/data analytics design principles as well as functions and technologies within Azure Data Lakes/Fabric.
You will be monitoring and maintaining existing pipelines as well as developing new processes within the Azure Fabric platform for the purposes of enabling data analytics to gain insight. Working within the Data & Insights Team you will develop processes to automate data loads on an agreed schedule, ensure data quality and maintain security.
You will also work collaboratively with the Data Management Lead and Data Analytics Team ensuring that data is managed and transformed appropriately and compliantly for use in PowerBI reports. You will need an enquiring mind and to be capable of troubleshooting and resolving often complex data related processes using Azure based applications.
