Responsibilities

  • You will bring enthusiasm and a clear understanding of the important contribution childminders make to early years provision.
  • You will offer support and constructive challenge to early years practice within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Essential to the role is experience working in a childminding setting and with children and parents, to provide informed guidance on high-quality childcare and early education, effective partnerships with parents, and business and regulatory requirements.
  • The role offers opportunities to further develop your teaching and early years practice skills.
  • You will support the use of the Bristol Standard and help facilitate and lead childminding groups across the city, working in partnership with colleagues within the Early Years Improvement Team.
  • You will hold a graduate-level qualification relevant to early years.
  • The position requires flexibility to work some evenings and occasional Saturdays to support the delivery of training, and the ability to travel across the city to visit childminders.
  • You will work in a hybrid way, combining home working with office-based work from the Early Years Team at Southmead Children’s Centre.
