We are seeking a dynamic and solution-focused individual with the ability to build productive relationships and a track record of delivering outcomes for citizens and communities. The role sits at the heart of the Bristol One City approach and will be instrumental in translating policy ambitions into meaningful delivery across the full range of One City thematic areas.
The City Office creates the conditions for key city partners from across the public, private & voluntary sectors in Bristol to work together to support our overarching goal of a fairer, healthier & more sustainable city by 2050. This includes publishing updates to the Bristol One City Plan, holding regular City Gathering conferences to bring together hundreds of senior stakeholders, and working with One City Thematic Boards to develop projects & strategies in support of the goals of the One City Plan.
This role is politically restricted in accordance with the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. This means that you are prevented from having any active political role either in or outside the workplace. Politically restricted employees are disqualified from standing for or holding elected office, and these restrictions are incorporated as terms in an employee's contract of employment under s.3 Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990. You are also prohibited from canvassing on behalf of a political party or a person who is or seeks to be a candidate and from speaking to the public at large or publishing any written or artistic work that could give the impression that they are advocating support for a political party.
