Role Summary
Provide support to children and young people with visual impairment across four local authorities (Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bath & NE Somerset). This peripatetic role involves adapting and producing resources, using technology, managing the loan of resources and equipment, working with teachers of the visually impaired, and supporting training delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to pupils with visual impairment.
- Adapt and produce learning resources.
- Use and manage assistive technology and equipment.
- Co‑operate with teachers, parents and other professionals.
- Support the delivery of training opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with children and those with SEN.
- Good communication skills with children, parents and professionals.
- Ability to use or quickly learn specialist assistive technology.
- Willingness to travel independently across multiple authorities.
Requirements
- Subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
- Travel to and between different settings is required.
