We are recruiting a Data & System Officer to join our Health & Safety team at Bristol Airport in this newly created role. Working within a small but highly influential team, you will play a key part in embedding our new Safety Management System, analysing data usage and performance, and delivering high-quality reporting that supports operational decision-making at every level of the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how data is used to improve safety, efficiency and compliance in fast growing Airport.

The role is full time, hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week with some flexibility on start and finish time dependent on operational need. Applications will close 30th June 2026 and first stage interviews will take place w/c 13th July 2026.

About the Role

You will lead and manage the organisation's Health & Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring it meets regulatory and business requirements through effective governance, development, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Health & Safety data strategy, governance, reporting, and analytics, ensuring high-quality data, meaningful KPIs, and insightful reporting for executives and the Board.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and best-practice solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to support informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and a strong safety culture.

Required skills & experience

  • Proven experience implementing a complex reporting system.
  • Significant experience in data management, reporting, and analytics (e.g. Power BI, Excel).
  • Experience producing high level reports developing data strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Sound understanding of H&S performance indicators and metrics.
  • Stand out communication skills with the ability to translate data in compelling storytelling that drives change.
