Are you a part-qualified accountant looking for your next opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-growing business? We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of Bristol Airport.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing management accounting team, with responsibility for the accounting, reporting and analysis of some of our key commercial revenue streams, including Retail, Catering and Property. You will work closely with Commercial Managers across the business, helping them understand their financial performance, providing meaningful insight and supporting them to make informed decisions.
You will also have exposure to operating expenditure, budgeting and forecasting, management reporting and financial modelling, giving you a broad and varied role within a busy and commercially focused Finance function. This is a permanent, full time, hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days in the office.

What you will be doing: You will take ownership of the management, control, analysis and reporting of Retail, Catering and Property revenue, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and insightful. You will build effective relationships with colleagues outside Finance, helping them understand their costs and performance and providing recommendations that drive accountability and improve business outcomes.
You will also:
- Manage, control, analyse and report on Retail, Catering and Property revenue, including the calculation and posting of revenue accruals and deferrals and completion of supporting balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor, administer, report and analyse utility costs, identifying trends and opportunities for improved cost management.
- Provide business partnering support to non-finance departments, developing a strong understanding of costs and providing insight and actionable recommendations to drive accountability and performance.
- Maintain effective systems, controls and processes for selected revenue and operating expenditure categories, ensuring accuracy, compliance and robust financial control.
- Provide modelling, reporting and analysis support to the Management Accountant and wider Finance team.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process for operational costs, providing accurate and timely financial information.
- Produce weekly KPIs and performance reporting to support business users in monitoring and understanding financial performance.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for relevant areas, including clear and insightful commentary on key movements and variances.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making and respond to specific business requirements.
- Provide accurate information, analysis and explanations to support internal and external audit requirements.
- Support the maintenance and development of key reporting packs, including management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and implement improvements to departmental processes, procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, including the use of automation and AI where appropriate.
What we are looking for: We are looking for someone who combines technical accounting skills with commercial curiosity and a genuine desire to understand how the numbers support the wider business. You will be a team player with a positive approach to learning and development.
You will also:
- Part-qualified CIMA or ACA, with a good grounding in management accounting.
- Analytical, you will enjoy investigating anomalies and turning financial information into meaningful insight.
- Confident working with large volumes of data and presenting your findings clearly to both Finance and non-Finance colleagues.
- Experienced in producing accurate and insightful management information.
- IT confident, with experience of accounting and database systems, Power BI and intermediate to advanced Excel.
- Interested in using automation and AI to make processes more efficient and improve the quality of financial insight.
- Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the confidence to challenge, investigate and identify opportunities to add value.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience using Workday Adaptive Planning.
