About the Role
Brisbane Racing Club is seeking a proactive and hands-on Logistics & Set-Up Team Leader to lead the delivery of seamless event set-ups across our iconic Eagle Farm and Doomben racecourses.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced events environment, enjoys leading teams from the front, and takes pride in creating exceptional experiences behind the scenes.
From major racing carnivals to premium hospitality events, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every space is presented to the highest standard before our guests arrive.
Working closely with the Logistics & Set-Up Coordinator, Assistant Operations Managers and Hospitality teams, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of the Set-Up team while driving efficiency, safety and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Logistics & Set-Up Team Leader, you'll
- Lead, coach and supervise the Set-Up team to deliver exceptional event and hospitality venue presentations.
- Coordinate the set-up and pack-down of hospitality spaces for race days, functions and major events.
- Ensure all venues are prepared in accordance with event specifications, floor plans and service standards before guests arrive.
- Oversee the movement, storage and allocation of hospitality equipment, furniture and event assets.
- Coordinate supplier deliveries and contractor bump-in/bump-out activities while ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Conduct post-event reconciliations, identifying maintenance requirements, damaged assets or stock shortages.
- Maintain safe, clean and efficient work areas while ensuring all team members follow operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and the guest experience.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an organised leader who enjoys being hands-on and leading by example. You'll bring:
- Previous experience in hospitality, venue or event operations.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading operational teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret event layouts and venue plans.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
- Commitment to Workplace Health & Safety and safe manual handling practices.
- A current driver's licence (essential).
- A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Availability to work weekends, early mornings, evenings and public holidays, particularly during major racing carnivals.
