We are currently seeking an experienced Farrier / Track & Grounds (T&G) Maintenance Attendant to join our Racing team.

This unique dual-role position plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, presentation and performance of our race meetings and facilities.

As our Farrier, you will:

  • Inspect and reshoe horses at race starts as directed by the Starter/Assistant Starter/QRIC
  • Inspect and reshoe horses between races as required
  • Inspect horses entering the mounting yard pre-race
  • Provide farrier services during barrier trials
  • Maintain all farrier tools and equipment

Outside of race days and trials, you will contribute as a T&G Maintenance Attendant, supporting the upkeep and presentation of our tracks and grounds to a world-class standard, applying horticultural best practice and adhering to WH&S policies and procedures. This is a hands-on, varied role requiring flexibility, professionalism and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

You will bring:

  • Cert III in Farriery (or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum 5 years' industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of farrier and horse handling methods specific to thoroughbreds
  • Demonstrated understanding of safe equipment operation and PPE requirements
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the thoroughbred racing industry (highly regarded)

Flexibility is essential, as racing and event activities may occur across weekends, evenings and public holidays.
