We are looking for a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to take a leading role in driving Health, Safety and Environmental standards across our UK site. Guided by UK regulations to meet Health and Safety standards and our own targets, you will act as the site's go-to specialist for HSE matters advising managers and teams, conducting risk assessments and audits, and leading initiatives to strengthen our safety culture and environmental performance. You'll provide clear, practical guidance to ensure compliance and play a key role in developing and improving our Environmental Management Systems.
Salary: Between £40,000-£45,000 dependent on your skills and experience.
Contract and Hours: Permanent. Full Time, working Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30 (40 hrs per week), but with a flexible approach depending on the business needs.

About You: You'll bring solid knowledge or experience in Health, Safety and Environmental management, ideally gained in a food manufacturing environment. You will be confident advising managers, influencing behaviours and driving improvements. We're looking for someone who can:
- Oversee the implementation of the company's HSE policies, alongside their review and development.
- Provide expert HSE advice and support at all levels of the business.
- Manage a small HSE team through effective training, development and performance evaluation.
- Lead risk assessments, incident investigations and audits, advising on preventative actions.
- Develop and monitor action plans to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Analyse safety and environmental data to identify trends and propose solutions.
- Champion sustainable safe systems of work and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Drive improvements and awareness in the site Environmental Management System.
Essential qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
You may be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within the food manufacturing industry.
- IOSH membership (TechIOSH) desirable.
- Working towards other recognised environmental or safety qualifications.
