Salary: Level 1 £12.71 per hour plus holiday accrual.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the outcomes required within the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim’ programme, with focus on the ‘Learn to Swim’ framework (Learn to Swim Stages 1-7).
  • Apply the ‘Brio Learn 2 Swim Scheme of Work’, in accordance with the week number of each lesson cycle.
  • Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the levels/stages outlined in the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim’ programme.
  • Assume responsibility of a Level 1 ‘assistant teacher’ where necessary and utilise to maximum learning effect, in accordance with the agreed aims and outcomes of the lesson.
  • Demonstrate a range of teaching skills for participant communication, learning styles and feedback, in order to facilitate and enhance the learning process.
  • Maintain participant weekly attendance registers.
  • Update participant achievement records as required.
  • Engage in a programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Participate in self-assessment, peer observation, and Aquatics Lead observation as part of ongoing self-development.
  • Liaise with participants, parents and Aquatics Lead as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Aquatics Lead, Aquatics Officer or Duty Manager appropriate to the needs of the service.
