ROLE DESCRIPTION
Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy on a major NHS digital programme and are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join an established delivery team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of complex digital solutions, bringing strong automation and integration testing expertise across a modern TypeScript and/or Java technology stack.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright or Selenium
- Write and maintain test code in TypeScript and/or Java to a high standard
- Plan and execute integration testing across complex, distributed system components
- Embed automated testing within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring quality gates are in place throughout the deployment process
- Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases across functional, regression, and integration testing
- Work closely with developers and architects to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, escalating risk where appropriate
- Provide clear and concise test reporting to the wider programme team
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- NHS or government experience is essential - candidates without this will not be considered
- Strong experience in test automation using Playwright and/or Selenium
- Proficient in TypeScript and/or Java for test development
- Solid experience with CI/CD tooling and integrating automated tests into deployment pipelines
- Proven integration testing experience across complex, distributed systems
- Comfortable working in an Agile delivery environment alongside cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail with clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work remotely and independently with occasional travel to London
