We are supporting a national NHS service on a discovery phase engagement and are looking for an experienced Service Designer with strong NHS experience. This role will be central to shaping the end to end service vision during discovery. You will work across policy, operations, clinical and digital teams to understand the current landscape and design a coherent, user centred future state service model.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead service design activities throughout the discovery phase
- Map current state services across national and regional stakeholders
- Identify pain points, gaps and opportunities across the end to end journey
- Design future state service models aligned to user needs and strategic objectives
- Produce artefacts including service blueprints, journey maps, ecosystem maps and operating models
- Facilitate cross functional workshops with senior stakeholders
- Work closely with User Researchers, Business Analysts, Product Managers and Technical teams
- Support transition from discovery into alpha with clear design principles and recommendations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Designer within the NHS
- Experience working on national or large scale NHS services
- Strong discovery phase experience within digital or transformation programmes
- Experience mapping complex, multi stakeholder services
- Confident facilitating workshops with senior clinical and operational stakeholders
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working within NHS England or other national bodies
- Familiarity with GDS service standards
- Experience designing services that span policy, digital and operational delivery
- Understanding of NHS governance and operating models
