Job Title: Power BI Developer
Duration: 6 Months
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to play a key role in building and optimising data reporting solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Power BI, SQL, and semantic modelling, with hands-on experience designing and implementing star schema data models to support business intelligence and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Build and optimise semantic models to support self-service analytics.
- Create and implement star schema designs for efficient and scalable reporting solutions.
- Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries to support BI solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across BI solutions.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven commercial experience as a Power BI Developer.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices).
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
- Experience in semantic modelling and designing star schema data models.
- Understanding of data warehouse principles and best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP).
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality principles.
