Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy on a major NHS digital programme and are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to play a key role in shaping and driving the technical direction of a complex, large-scale delivery. This is a senior position requiring someone who can operate confidently at both a strategic and hands-on level, bringing together architecture, engineering, and stakeholder management in a fast-paced NHS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own the technical architecture across the programme, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to NHS standards and frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, setting direction on tooling, patterns, and best practice.
- Design and oversee cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Drive Java-based development standards and architectural decisions across the codebase.
- Engage with NHS stakeholders and third party suppliers to align technical approaches with programme requirements.
- Identify and manage technical risk, producing documentation and recommendations to support governance and assurance processes.
- Support technical onboarding of new team members and suppliers.
