As Product Lead, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of digital products and services that play a key role in improving outcomes across the NHS. You'll combine strategic vision with hands-on product leadership, balancing delivery momentum with long-term impact. Working across multi-disciplinary teams, you'll ensure products meet user needs, align with organisational goals, and deliver measurable value to patients, clinicians, and the wider system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy and delivery across a complex portfolio of digital or data-enabled products and services.
- Define and own product roadmaps, prioritisation, and outcome-focused backlogs.
- Navigate a wide and complex stakeholder landscape across the NHS, central government, and delivery partners.
- Champion user-centred, data-informed product thinking, embedding a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, design, policy, and delivery) to align product outcomes with strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership and coaching to product managers, building capability and fostering a high-performing product culture.
- Translate complex technical or policy concepts into clear, actionable business outcomes for senior stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Proven track record of leading product delivery in large, complex organisations (NHS, central government, or similar public sector settings).
- Experience defining and delivering digital or data-driven products from discovery through to live operation.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence, align, and gain trust across diverse and senior groups.
- Strong product acumen with the ability to balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business objectives.
- Skilled in using evidence and data to guide prioritisation, decision-making, and performance measurement.
- Experience working in agile environments and managing delivery through tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance within NHS or public sector contexts.
- Confident communicator capable of translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading across multiple teams or cross-functional programmes.
