Role; Integration Engineer
Rate; £590/day Inside IR35
Duration; until 2026
Location; Remote with occasional travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain integration solutions across multiple healthcare applications and systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Work closely with clinical, operational, and IT teams to understand integration requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.
- Develop and manage interfaces between key NHS systems such as electronic patient records (EPR), clinical systems, laboratory systems, and other third-party applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services and patient care.
- Ensure compliance with NHS standards and security regulations, including data protection and confidentiality requirements.
- Collaborate with software vendors and other external partners to configure, implement, and optimize integration solutions.
- Document integration processes, workflows, and system configurations.
- Provide technical support and training to staff involved in integration projects.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in integrating healthcare IT systems, with a deep understanding of the NHS IT landscape.
- Proficiency in integration technologies such as HL7, FHIR, IHE, or other interoperability standards.
- Experience with integration tools like Mirth Connect, Infor Cloverleaf, or similar.
- Knowledge of NHS data and systems, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), Patient Administration Systems (PAS), and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
- Understanding of health information standards, data exchange formats, and security protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
