Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy on a major NHS digital programme and are looking for two experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineers to join a high-performing engineering team. You will play a senior role in the design and delivery of modern, scalable web applications, bringing strong full stack expertise across Next.js, TypeScript, and AWS in a programme delivering meaningful impact across NHS services nationwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build high-quality, scalable full stack applications using Next.js and TypeScript
- Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS, following well-architected and security best practices
- Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, reliability, and security standards are met
- Write and maintain automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright as part of the development workflow
- Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering standards alongside the Technical Architect
- Carry out thorough code reviews, championing quality and best practice across the team
- Work within CI/CD pipelines, contributing to automated build, test, and deployment processes
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including architects, testers, and product owners
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, test, and live environments
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- NHS or government experience is essential - candidates without this will not be considered
- Strong, demonstrable senior-level full stack development experience on complex programmes
- Proficient in Next.js and TypeScript across both front end and back end development
- Solid AWS experience across core services including Lambda, S3, EC2, and RDS
- Proven REST API design and development experience
- Experience writing automated tests using Playwright
- Comfortable working in an Agile delivery environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical teams
- Able to work remotely and independently with occasional travel to London
