DevOps Engineer

Role: DevOps Engineer – AWS & Terraform | Public Sector | £500/day (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote (UK-based) apart from day-1 to collect equipment.

Duration: 3 Months rolling contract

We’re working with a leading public sector organisation delivering a major digital transformation programme. They’re now seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join the team and support the build and deployment of cloud-native infrastructure and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure smooth CI/CD workflows
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring
• Support containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, ECS, or EKS)
• Ensure all infrastructure is secure, scalable, and compliant with government standards

Essential Skills:

• Strong commercial experience with AWS
• Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Good knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS)
• Comfortable in Agile delivery environments
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Desirable:

• Experience in UK public sector or central government projects
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
