Brio Digital is working with a well-established consultancy to recruit an experienced Business Analyst to join an ongoing digital transformation programme within the public sector. These projects are focused on improving essential government services.

About the Role

You’ll be joining a cross-functional delivery team working through discovery, alpha, and beta phases. As the Business Analyst, you’ll engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, gather and document requirements, and translate these into user stories and functional specifications. You’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical delivery, helping to shape digital services that are user-centred, efficient, and aligned with GDS standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to capture business needs and define requirements
  • Support service design through the mapping of current and future processes
  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation to support delivery
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to drive discovery and decision-making
  • Collaborate with delivery managers, user researchers, designers, and developers
  • Ensure solutions meet business goals, user needs, and technical constraints
  • Contribute to planning and prioritisation activities in agile environments

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within public sector or government programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within a digital delivery context
  • Ability to create clear documentation, process maps, and service blueprints
  • Familiarity with GDS principles and service standards (desirable)
  • Confident in leading workshops and managing multiple stakeholder groups
