B
  • Location: Remote, occasional travel to Leeds (1x per month at most)
  • Duration: Until December, with long-term renewal expected
  • Start: ASAP

Overview

We’re looking for a Delivery Manager to support on a new national NHS programme capability from concept through to real-world adoption.

This is a greenfield programme. You’ll take the programme from early design into live pilots with NHS trusts, use what you learn to refine the approach, then help shape how it scales nationally. Success is measured by adoption in real NHS settings, not just delivery of technology.

You’ll sit between national teams, architects, engineers, suppliers and local NHS organisations, so you’ll need to be credible with technical people and confident leading organisations you d not directly control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of new Cyber security capabilities from discovery and design through to pilot and rollout
  • Plan and run pilots with NHS trusts, coordinating technical, operational and business readiness
  • Make sure pilots produce real evidence to inform national rollout decisions
  • Capture learning from pilot sites and feed it back into product, architecture and service design
  • Help build repeatable onboarding and implementation approaches for future sites
  • Turn architectural designs into practical delivery plans, and challenge them when they won’t work on the ground
  • Own the team Jira board, managing epics, tickets and clear acceptance criteria
  • Run Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and progress reporting
  • Manage dependencies, risks and blockers across multiple teams and suppliers
  • Build strong relationships with trusts, suppliers and national programme teams
  • Run workshops and bring technical and non-technical stakeholders to agreement

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering greenfield digital services or platforms, not just enhancing existing systems
  • Track record of running pilots or proofs of concept and scaling them into wider rollout
  • Experience delivering national or multi-organisation programmes, across many sites or organisations
  • Strong experience engaging senior external stakeholders, such as trust CIOs, national programme leads and suppliers
  • Solid Agile delivery experience, owning Jira boards and running ceremonies
  • Good understanding of identity and access management concepts, including SSO, federation, Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Able to work confidently with architects and engineers without being a technical specialist
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience on national NHS programmes
  • Experience rolling out identity, access or authentication solutions into NHS trusts
  • Supplier-side implementation experience with identity tools (e.g. Microsoft Entra, Okta, Imprivata)
  • Background in GDS-style delivery (discovery, alpha, beta, live)
