We are recruiting for an Arboriculture Instructor/Technician with a Forestry and/or Arboriculture background who is passionate about supporting effective teaching, learning and assessment.
You will hold a recognised Forestry or Arboriculture qualification at level 3 or above and preferably have experience working in the arboriculture industry. You will have competency NPTC certificates, including chainsaw maintenance, cross cutting, felling of small trees, tree climbing and aerial rescue. An Arboriculture/Forestry first aid certificate would also be preferred.
As part of the duties, you will need to support the practical delivery of both theory and practical sessions, covering climbing techniques and chainsaw maintenance and operations to a diverse group of students. You will need to have a sound knowledge of relevant industry legislation and codes of practice and have proven industry experience.
As our Forestry and Arboriculture Instructor/Technician you will: β€’ Prepare practical equipment and safe working areas for the delivery of our forestry and arboriculture courses. β€’ Support the lead lecturer in the training, teaching and delivery ensuring that all safety measures are adhered to and risk assessed accordingly. β€’ Maintain service records of equipment and manage inspection visits and recommendations/actions. β€’ Maintain and manage college arboriculture resources to the highest safety standards.

What you will bring to the role:
β€’ Experience working within the arboriculture or forestry industry β€’ Up to date NPTC certificates in climbing and chainsaw competence β€’ High expectations of safe working conditions and risk management knowledge and skills
