The predicted salary is between 27000 - 30000 £ per year.

We are looking for a suitable applicant to support our expanding archaeology and heritage department. This role will involve the production of archaeological desk-based assessments and heritage statements, the undertaking of archaeological monitoring, and an involvement in expanding our department in the undertaking of archaeological evaluations.

A full driving licence is essential as the role will involve travel for site visits fieldwork.

Duties
  • Producing archaeological desk-based assessments and heritage statements, in relation to projects throughout the UK;
  • Managing and/or assisting in fieldwork duties (e.g. walkover surveys, watching briefs, evaluations);
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with team members, clients, local authorities and sub-contractors;
  • Advising the environmental team and clients regarding archaeology/heritage within planning and development design;
  • Producing quotes and managing the financial aspect of projects.
Essential Criteria
  • Excellent report writing skills;
  • Technically competent and willing to learn and use GIS;
  • Highly motivated and able to work by themselves and within a team;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Full driving licence and own transport.
Desirable Criteria
  • Degree in archaeology or related subject;
  • Familiarity with GIS;
  • Experience with producing formal reports and/or input to planning applications;
  • Experience of undertaking trial trenching.
