This role is an ad-hoc Seasonal Ecologist position, involving completing evening surveys, including surveys for bats and great crested newts. It is ideal for those with other commitments who want to build experience within the sector. The role will run throughout the 2026 season (March – October).

Responsibilities and Benefits

  • Conducting ecological surveys including (but not limited to): reptile surveys, great crested newt surveys, bat emergence and bat activity surveys.
  • Undertaking translocation visits.
  • Structured training provided.
  • Supporting other members of the team.
  • Invoices and expenses paid monthly.
  • Accommodation for overnight stays and expenses covered.

All survey equipment is provided; however, applicants must have access to a private vehicle to drive to and from the office, as surveys may be conducted at odd hours of the night, which can be problematic if relying on public transport.
