Applications Senior Manager
Location: London (hybrid working)
The Role
The Senior Manager for Applications (many Legal) will fulfil a strategic role delivering legal technology services and client facing leadership for the firm\’s digital business.
Day to day management of the Strategic Applications team in the region along with the Managers in the team.
In this senior role, they will work closely with senior internal stakeholders.
Working as a senior member of the applications team, the role will enjoy a high degree of autonomy and be responsible for delivering technically creative and smart solutions that provide our clients with business strategic workflows in the selected applications platform.
The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, decision making skills, project management skills and a strong understanding of data modelling and workflow. You will engage with clients and internal teams.
Duties
- Responsible for strategic applications products (many legal applications).
- Build relationships with senior internal stakeholders.
- Working with others to ensure that the right teams are supporting project requests and appropriate prioritisation of capacity.
Ensuring all software utilised by the applications team has appropriate governance structure around it:
- Licence agreement details
- IT support matrix
- Relationship with vendors, understanding latest releases and upgrades
- Work with the Digital Change team in relation to requests for new tech or new solutions (i.e. not already established within the strategic applications team)
Skills / Qualifications
- 7 years of experience minimum with technology within a professional services firm (Legal is desired not essential) or a related industry
- Experience within a regulated services environment (preferably legal)
- Comfortable working according to agile principles, sprint planning, scrum etc.
- Preferably have certifications in prince 2, agile or sigma 6
- Able to design and describe data construct and workflows using diagramming tools like Lucid Charts or Visio to visually represent solutions such as data formats/schema or process flows
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with multidisciplinary teams spanning technology and front line operations
- Able to explain technical concepts effectively to a nontechnical audience
- Experience with delivering technical solutions to tight deadlines
- Languages: JS/ECMAScript 6, Semantic HTML, CSS/SCSS
- Frameworks: Vue.js, REST API integration, AzureAD authentication, Automated testing, DDD/SOLID principles
Desired understanding of:
- MS Office Suite Skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- SharePoint, Jira, Legatics
- Power Automate and Microsoft Power Apps
