We are now looking for a commercially driven Procurement Associate to join our Procurement team, supporting a large, established Insurance client within a fast‑paced, stakeholder‑led environment.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for a procurement professional with a strong background in IT services or Networks, Infrastructure, and Hardware categories who thrives in collaborative, high‑impact environments. You will support the Category Lead to deliver category strategies, manage complex supplier relationships, and drive measurable value across technology spend — all while operating within a regulated industry setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute category strategies across Networks, Infrastructure, and Hardware
- Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract awards
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation
- Partner with senior stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Operations
- Deliver cost savings and value creation initiatives aligned to business goals
- Track market trends, supplier innovation, and emerging technologies
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals and performance reviews
Key Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years’ experience in IT procurement, with focus on Networks, Infrastructure, and Hardware
- Proven sourcing and commercial negotiation skills with a strong cost‑saving track record
- Experience managing regional or global technology suppliers
- Strong understanding of WAN, LAN, infrastructure, and hardware procurement
- Ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and commercial mindset
- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services is beneficial but not essential
- Familiarity with procurement tools and contract management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
Working Model
Hybrid working – minimum of 2 days per week in the Manchester office. Candidates should be based in Manchester or within a commutable distance.
