Fancy a role where you’re paid properly to get out, meet people, and win business, not sit behind a laptop “nurturing” the same tired accounts? This is a proper hunter position. Big market. Quick wins. And a product that’s genuinely easy to talk about because it does one simple thing: saves businesses money on energy.... fast.
If you love opening doors, building momentum, and seeing your commission follow your effort… keep reading. This is 100% net new. No renewals. No “account management by stealth”. Just you, a clear market, strong support, and the chance to build a serious earnings profile.
The opportunity
- You’ll join a Direct Sales team that’s being built with structure, pace and standards, backed by leadership that cares about process, data, and giving salespeople the tools to win.
- You’ll have a big pool of target customers (SME / mid-market).
- A straightforward proposition: save money on energy, quickly and transparently.
- A modern sales set-up (Salesforce now; enablement tools being rolled out).
- The freedom to be in the field, networking and creating pipeline.
What you’ll be doing (new business only)
- Win new customers through a mix of outbound prospecting, inbound leads, referrals and events.
- Own the full sales cycle: first conversation → discovery → proposal → negotiation → signed contract.
- Sell consultatively to decision-makers: owners, Finance, Ops.
- Build credibility fast with clear, needs-led conversations.
- Represent the business at networking events and industry forums to generate relationships and pipeline.
- Keep activity and opportunities accurate in Salesforce (sales hygiene matters here).
- Work smoothly with internal teams to ensure a clean handover once the deal is signed.
Deal shape: Typically 2-year contracts with a 1–3 month sales cycle. Target: circa £750k annual contract value (ACV) across your book.
What “good” looks like in this role
- Consistent pipeline generation (quality as well as volume).
- Predictable conversion from opportunity to signed agreement.
- Strong pace and follow-up discipline.
- Clean CRM and a professional standard in every customer interaction.
- Sharing market insight to improve targeting, messaging and conversion.
What we’re looking for
- Proven B2B new business experience (SME and/or mid-market).
- Comfortable in a high-activity environment: calls, outreach, meetings, events.
- Confident running multiple deals in parallel and moving them forward.
- Commercial, organised, and motivated by performance (and earning well).
- Happy being field-led with hybrid working (you’ll need to be within easy commuting distance of the office base).
- You do not need energy sector experience; the manager is open to background if you’ve got the right sales DNA.
- This role is not for candidates who want renewals-only, account management, or customer service-led positions.
Tools, enablement & how the team is evolving
- Salesforce CRM is in place.
- Sales enablement tooling being implemented (e.g., Salesloft / Outreach style).
- A data-led approach to improving outcomes (touchpoints, sequencing, templates).
- Growing use of content and smarter messaging (including short-form video) to support outbound efforts.
Package
- ÂŁ40,000 basic salary.
- Uncapped commission with clear, achievable ÂŁ80,000 OTE.
- Pension.
- Holiday entitlement.
- Hybrid / flexible working.
- Structured onboarding, training and ongoing support.
