Brilliant Relations, a boutique London-based PR agency specialising in B2B media relations, is looking for an editorial specialist to join our small but growing team. You will be working with clients across a diverse range of industries, ranging from financial services to marketing and advertising, payments, property, education, aviation, technology and language services.

The core focus of this job is writing copy for clients across a range of content types - a typical day might involve writing press releases, long-form thought leadership articles, award submissions, client blogs and LinkedIn copy. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to analyse client data to help craft stories.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys writing and is also interested in developing and managing relationships with clients and media outlets over time. You will need demonstrable B2B writing experience and excellent storytelling skills. These may have been gained working at a B2B media outlet or at another agency, but are essential for this role.

You’ll be able to navigate the nuances of the B2B media environment, as well as confidently conduct interviews with clients and spot angles that are suitable for B2B publications. You will need to be confident liaising with everyone from company administrators through to the C-suite and you’ll need to be comfortable working closely with clients.

This job would be suited to a former journalist or similar with a desire to move into PR and we are open to candidates without PR experience so long as they are willing to learn about the business.

Essential skills
  • Excellent interviewing and writing skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to come up with a range of media-worthy ideas.
  • Experience managing stakeholders internally and externally, with excellent reporting, administrative and communication skills.
  • Ability to write in a range of different styles, with the skills to craft everything from corporate B2B news releases to colourful long-form articles and blogs.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and portfolios at any one time.
  • The ability to build a deep understanding of relevant client industry trends and talking points.

Salary c. £40-45K, depending on experience. Discretionary annual financial bonus, dependent on personal and company performance. 10% new business bonus. Flexible hours. 25 days paid annual leave (excluding bank holidays and Christmas period). Friday early finish (4pm). Customisable Benefit-in-Kind package.

Brilliant Relations is a flexible employer and operates a hybrid work pattern. Our preference for this role is a full-time employee able to work from our Kings Cross office at least once every two weeks (candidates are welcome to work in the office more frequently if preferred), but we are open to considering other arrangements.

To apply, please attach your CV and some writing samples. Please note applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
