Job Summary We\’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer – Product Design and Thermal Analysis to help us design and build robust and long-lasting industrial products for the battery energy stationary storage space. This role will design the next generation of products, reduce product costs, and support production scaling through a blend of creative design and practical engineering practice. You will join a small and dynamic team and report to our Principal Engineers. About Brill Power Brill Power works at the cutting edge of energy storage, power electronics, and battery software. Job Overview and Responsibilities You will join Brill Power as a Mechanical Engineer – Product Design and Thermal Analysis and contribute to the modelling, design, and testing of mechanical elements of Brill Power\’s products and production automation equipment. Working within the hardware product development team, the successful candidate will design products suitable for the market. If you\’re keen to develop new technologies and work in a dynamic field, this may be the role for you. You should be confident working autonomously while also being comfortable working with the team in a fast-paced environment. Brill Power is operating a hybrid in office and working from home scheme. Due to the hands-on nature of this role, you will be needed in the lab for most of your work. If you fill most of the qualifications listed below and are excited to work on cutting-edge battery technology, we want to talk to you. Responsibilities Include: Design and develop our next generation of products from idea to production. Maintain and improve existing product designs to reduce cost and improve ease-of-manufacture. Communicate ideas through sketches, physical prototypes and CAD models. Understand, gather and communicate the mechanical requirements to build safe, high voltage, battery systems. Design and generate professional 2D CAD drawings for products and wire harnesses Work closely with the electronics team to: Identify and specify mechanical requirements to guide printed circuit board design. Design and build automated test equipment for internal and production line testing. Create products with excellent thermal performance characteristics through smart thermal design. Build and test products and related equipment in the lab. Skills and Qualifications: 3+ years in a similar role At least an undergraduate-level engineering degree (mechanical, mechatronics, product design, electronics, etc) Experience with any professional grade MCAD software (we use Solidworks) Worked on at least one project where you\’ve helped bring a product through from idea to production. Strong practical skills (building physical prototypes, mechanical assembly, general lab support). Excellent computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office). Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interface effectively with stakeholders.
