We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with Azure Cloud experience to lead the software team of our connected energy storage system business.
About Brill Power is a subsidiary of Palmer Energy Technology, works on energy storage, power electronics, and battery software. Established in 2016, continues to grow. A small, talented team based in Oxford.

Job Overview and responsibilities:
- Brill Power develops innovative software and hardware for battery systems and energy management.
- The technology development led/overseen by the successful candidate includes:
- Azure cloud platform which hosts our internal and customer facing cloud services
- External user interfaces for our cloud services (web UIs, APIs, apps)
- IoT infrastructure for data acquisition and communication with/between battery energy storage systems, battery analytics and energy management software and algorithms
- Data pipelines and management
The person will define the requirements, approve code, communicate performance, and lead the team responsible for Brill Power’s IoT infrastructure and cloud services, with a strong focus on data and cyber security, scalability, and performance. They will coordinate with in‑house experts in battery systems and data science, and work closely with our parent company’s international technical teams.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaboration and Communication: Leading/working within internal and external software teams, comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements.
- Able to work autonomously.
- Comfortable working in a small team with a diverse range of responsibilities.
