Brightwork's client is currently recruiting a Transport Manager who will have full responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of their fleet. You will ensure that all fleet activities adhere to statutory requirements, Operator Licence undertakings and our client's internal standards. As Transport Manager you will provide strong leadership to drivers and transport teams, ensuring excellent customer service, high operational performance, and a culture of safety and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Transport Compliance & O Licence Management
  • Act as the named Transport Manager on the Northern Ireland Operator Licence.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Operator Licence requirements, including vehicle maintenance, driver hours, driver competence and record keeping.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation (DVSA, DVA, Working Time Directive, tachograph regulations).
  • Ensure vehicle inspection schedules, defect reporting systems and maintenance procedures are effective and adhered to.
  • Monitor and analyse compliance data (telematics, tacho downloads, inspections, MOT pass rates) and rectify non-conformance promptly.
  • Oversee fleet operations across all NI sites.
  • Work with workshop teams and external suppliers to ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
  • Forecast and plan fleet requirements in line with business growth and acquisitions.
