Do you enjoy working outdoors and keeping community spaces clean, tidy and well maintained? We are looking for a hands-on Grass Cutter/Gardener to join a local authority team in Renfrewshire. This is a vital role ensuring that public areas are kept safe, tidy, and well maintained, and it is essential for the right candidate to be respectful of the general public while they are working.
Your Time at Work
- Carrying out basic maintenance across public areas in Renfrewshire.
- Traveling between the sites will be part of the day to day for this role; a current driving licence is preferred, however this is not a requirement as alternative travel arrangements can be provided.
- Gardening duties such as strimming, litter picking, debris collection, and grass cutting.
- Adhering to all health and safety requirements including the use of appropriate PPE (this is provided by the local authority).
We are looking for a candidate who has experience within a similar role and has knowledge around using landscaping equipment and tools.
Our Perfect Worker
- Driving Licence: A valid Category B License is desirable for this role, but this is not a requirement.
- Experience: A background in outdoor maintenance, landscaping, or a trade-based role using power tools.
- Compliance: You must be able to pass a Basic Disclosure check.
- Attitude: A safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently in all Scottish weather!
Key Information and Benefits
- Pay Rate: £13.95 (£14.68 for drivers)
- Hours: 7am - 6pm, 4 days on 4 days off (paid 10.5 hours per day).
- Duration: This role is seasonal and will be required until October 2026.
