Brightwork are delighted to be supporting our key client with the recruitment of an HR Advisor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a fast-paced, multi-site organisation, providing hands-on support across both operational and corporate environments.
The Role
Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the HR Advisor will deliver practical and commercially focused HR support across multiple locations in Scotland, with regular travel between sites. This is a highly visible, site-facing role where you will work closely with frontline managers, supporting them with day-to-day people challenges while ensuring a compliant, engaged and high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations
- Act as first point of contact for HR queries from managers and employees
- Manage a wide range of employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance
- Lead investigations and support formal meetings
- Coach and support Team Leaders to confidently manage people issues
- Provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice aligned with business needs
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support workforce planning and recruitment activity
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new starters
- Work with managers to improve time-to-hire and reduce early attrition
- Policy & Compliance
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures
- Promote best practice and compliance with UK employment legislation
- Maintain accurate documentation and support audits
- Performance & Change
- Support performance management processes and address underperformance
- Assist with organisational change initiatives including restructures and shift changes
- Ensure clear and effective employee communication during change
- HR Data & Insights
- Monitor key HR metrics such as absence and turnover
- Identify trends and work with managers to implement improvements
About You
You will be an experienced HR Advisor with a strong background in employee relations, ideally gained within a fast-paced operational environment such as manufacturing, logistics or similar. You will also demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application
- Experience supporting frontline or shift-based workforces
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-driven approach
- Willingness to travel regularly between sites
Desirable: CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent), Experience working in a unionised environment
