This role is being advertised by Brightwork Ltd and we require a Weekend Cafe Assistant for our client's busy cafe in the EH5 area of Edinburgh.
Your Time at Work
Hours of work are Saturday and Sunday.
Main duties include:
- Setting up the till in the morning / cashing up the till in the afternoon.
- Entering payments into the till.
- Set up breakfast at the counter and fill the chilled cabinets.
- Serve breakfast.
- Clear counter after breakfast.
- Set up for lunch.
- Serve lunch, including heating paninis and toasties.
- Clean and tidy after lunch.
- Keep serving area clean and stocked.
- Keep tea / coffee area clean and stocked, including the coffee machine, cutlery, serviettes etc.
- Regularly clear and clean tables in the Café.
- Remove dirty plates etc. to the pan wash area within the kitchen, ready to be washed by staff.
- Put away clean crockery and cutlery.
Our Perfect Worker
- This role will require you to comply with relevant Health and Safety, Infection Control and Hygiene regulations - ideally have a Food Hygiene certificate or formal Food hygiene training.
- Excellent people skills as will be working with the public.
- A good communicator.
- Willingness to work as part of the wider Catering Team.
- Numerate (as this will involve till work).
- Able to prioritise when the Café is busy.
- Willingness to undertake training in the operation of equipment within the Café.
