We're working with a leading technology business developing advanced workforce management solutions used by major employers across the UK. They're now looking for a Product Development Lead to help shape the next generation of their platform and guide its technical evolution.
This is a senior strategic role where you'll define direction, oversee architecture, and drive technical excellence across a modern Java and AWS environment. You'll provide hands-on leadership when required but your focus will be steering product development, influencing engineering standards, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and fit for purpose.
What you'll do:
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle from design through to delivery
- Define technical direction and architecture across Java and AWS services
- Drive best practice across TDD, CI/CD, and scalable API design
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps and QA teams to align technical delivery with business goals
- Guide technical change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support and mentor engineers, fostering a high-performance culture

- Strong experience in backend software development with Java and AWS
- A proven track record in leading product development or technical strategy
- Expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservice architecture
