The client This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor, Glasgow / Hybrid based, within an innovative and dynamic consultancy.

The role – Quantity Surveyor You will have a challenging, interesting and varied role offering an excellent opportunity to utilise your extensive expertise in commercial management and control, managing all aspects of cost control and financial planning related to building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveying professional committed to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Duties and responsibilities include;

  • Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
  • Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs are controlled effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct site visits, as required, to assess progress and verify that work aligns with budget forecasts.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate costs and ensure projects meet all deliverables in relation to quality, cost and completion.
  • Prepare, manage and maintain comprehensive commercial records related to each project.
  • Identify potential cost overruns early and recommend corrective actions to mitigate financial risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant legal regulations concerning financial matters.

Ideally a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, you will be able to demonstrate proven experience leading and managing commercial operations for multiple simultaneously running building projects. You will have a first-class knowledge of project budgeting, cost control, contractor management and project delivery. You will have an in-depth working knowledge of a range of construction contracts, procurement processes, and legal standards. Possessing excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, you will be well versed in creating, developing and managing all internal and external stakeholder groups.

This role is a Glasgow / hybrid-based post with UK wide travel as required in relation to project requirements, timescales and deadlines.
