As a National Account Manager, you'll own and develop a portfolio of key accounts within the grocery and convenience sectors. Your focus will be on driving profitable growth, increasing volume across major retail segments, and ensuring the business maintains its strong market position. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to align sales, marketing, and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers
- Develop Joint Business Plans to deliver agreed profitable growth targets
- Implement promotional activity aligned with brand values, customer strategy, and operational capacity
- Conduct post-promotion analysis to optimise future investment and improve forecasting
- Analyse internal sales data, track performance, identify trends, and provide insight to the Sales Director and wider business
- Stay informed on market developments and share actionable insights with the commercial team
- Ensure timely and accurate customer and internal administration
- Work with Supply Chain to maintain optimal product availability
- Collaborate with Finance to resolve pricing queries within your account base
- Manage annual budget planning and present account strategies to the commercial team
- Accurately forecast customer demand in line with the monthly sales and operations cycle
About You
- Proven experience managing national accounts within grocery and convenience retail
- Solid understanding of the levers that drive growth (Product, Price, Place, Promotion)
- Experience working within a branded FMCG environment
- Track record of delivering profitable sales growth
- Strong commercial acumen with confidence using data and insights to inform decisions and proposals
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
