We are seeking a Material Handler to join our chemical processing manufacturing site. This role involves handling raw materials, packaging, and final products while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance in a hazardous materials processing facility.
Your Time at Work:
- Sample and analyse raw materials, reporting results in SAP.
- Inspect, offload, and document incoming raw materials and packaging deliveries using mechanical handling equipment such as counterbalance forklift.
- Report discrepancies in quantity or quality to planners/managers.
- Move materials on-site and operate tank farms (training provided) for distribution and offloading.
- Prepare and load final products for dispatch.
- Guide tanker drivers on safe working practices if required.
Our Perfect Worker:
- Relevant material handling and warehousing experience.
- Current counterbalance forklift truck licence (external).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a high-hazard environment.
Key Information and Benefits:
- Attractive working hours: Mon-Thu 7:45am-4:15pm, Fri 7:45am-1:30pm.
- £16.32 per hr pay rate (£17.95 if moved to a 7-day day shift pattern).
- Overtime may be available.
- Ongoing temporary contract, long term opportunity.
- Own transport may be required due to site location in North Ayrshire.
