Brightwork are currently working on behalf of our client, a well-established healthcare organisation to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor to join their Estates team covering Bute & Cowal. Based in Dunoon, the successful candidate should expect travel to other sites within the region. The successful candidate will be required to take part in an on-call rota, each on-call week consists of 9 sessions (evenings and weekends) and is paid per session, with any call-outs paid at enhanced rates of 1.5x standard pay and double time on public holidays. The role is 36 hours per week, with working hours set as Monday to Thursday, 08:00-16:00, and Friday, 08:00-14:30.
This is a hands-on leadership role, overseeing maintenance operations across a diverse property portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate a team of maintenance staff and external contractors
- Plan, schedule, and prioritise maintenance activities across multiple sites
- Carry out hands-on maintenance and repair tasks when required
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety and statutory regulations
- Manage minor works projects, including sourcing materials and organising resources
- Respond to faults, breakdowns, and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using internal systems
- Demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, or building trade
- Relevant qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Prior working experience in a maintenance or building services role
- Previous supervisor/managerial position held within a facilities role
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
- Experience working in a multi-site or complex environment is advantageous
