This role is being advertised by Brightwork who are recruiting for our client in Falkirk and we require a Temporary Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor for our client's site. We are looking for an experienced Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor to work in a busy canteen environment based in Falkirk.

Your Time at Work

Hours of work are on a rota basis: 35 hours per week. This role is shift based; shift hours are between 6am and 7.00pm. There may also be a requirement for occasional evening/weekend work.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • To support and assist the Catering Manager (deputising where required) in the delivery of the catering provision
  • Monitor service delivery at meal times to ensure that standards and procedures are consistently maintained
  • Supervise and engage with the catering assistants and placements
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with current legislative practice and in conjunction with the Food Safety Scotland guidelines
  • Completion of all routine administration and communications relevant to local and national requirements (weekly checks, food safety checks etc.)
  • Monitor food waste and manage stock levels advising the Catering Manager when stock is coming to its end of shelf life or needs to be replenished; assist in the planning of menus, stock ordering and catering to meet the dietary needs of all college users

  • Experience of Catering/Cooking within a commercial catering environment
  • Proven track record of working within a similar environment
  • Proven knowledge of current legislative requirements and statutory compliance
