Brightwork are delighted to be supporting a key client in Carryduff, a large and well-established organisation with a strong operational footprint, as they recruit a Finance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a period of substantial growth, offering a dynamic environment and a broad, hands-on finance role. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys ownership of core processes and wants to develop within a growing organisation.
The Role
- Managing bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Delivering end to end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance with legislation and timely payments.
- Preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements and internal deadlines.
- Overseeing supplier payments and account maintenance, including payment runs, query resolution and maintaining effective supplier relationships.
- Producing cashflow reports, monitoring cash positions and providing clear analysis to support decision-making.
- Supporting the month-end close process, including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the enhancement of processes and controls as the organisation continues to grow.
About you
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounting Technician or Senior Accounts Assistant role.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll, VAT and core accounting processes.
- AAT qualified, part qualified, or equivalent practical experience - support on offer to gain qualification if not already.
- Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a wider finance function.
- Highly organised, detail focused and proactive.
