Our client is currently recruiting an experienced Mechanic who will carry out maintenance, repair, and inspection of their fleet, including HGVs, vans, trailers, and plant equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high standard, are roadworthy, and comply with legal, environmental, and company requirements.
- Work as part of the workshop team to minimise downtime, support operational continuity, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.
- Carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on HGVs, vans, trailers, and plant equipment.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
- Assist in delivering preventative maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and other compliance inspections.
- Respond to breakdowns and urgent repair requirements as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Time-served mechanic or relevant qualification in vehicle maintenance or mechanical engineering.
- Experience working on HGVs, commercial vehicles, or plant equipment.
- Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety in a workshop environment.
- Ability to complete accurate records and documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, proactive, and strong work ethic.
Mon - Fri - 45 hours per week
