Business Development Manager Scotland (Field-based - regular travel required) £50,000 DOE + uncapped commission
We are working with an established and growing B2B energy & transport solutions provider to recruit a Business Development Manager in Scotland. This is a field-based role focused on driving new business, developing strategic partnerships, and growing key accounts across a range of sectors.
The Role
You will be responsible for driving revenue growth across a portfolio of services including fuel supply, payment solutions, partner networks, and value-added services for fleet-based businesses. The role involves managing the full sales cycle, from identifying and securing new business through to onboarding and ongoing account development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional business development strategy
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across sectors such as transport, logistics, construction, agriculture, and industrial
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts
- Deliver a consultative sales approach, identifying opportunities to cross-sell multiple services
- Represent the business at client meetings, networking events, and industry exhibitions
- Prepare proposals, pricing structures, and commercial agreements
- Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and CRM activity
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development or field sales
- Background in fuels, energy, logistics, fleet services, or a related sector is advantageous
- Demonstrated success in winning new business and managing a territory
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to structure profitable deals
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work autonomously
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
