Brightwork are recruiting for a Transport Clerk to cover nights at a prestigious logistics company in East Kilbride. This role will support the delivery of the Transport KPIs by completing day to day clerical tasks across the Transport and Fleet operations to support the execution of the Transport and Fleet plans and achieve KPIs, using a variety of systems and processes to input, produce and maintain accurate information.

Your Time at Work

  • Ensure relevant information relating to transport legislation is available in a timely manner and highlighted at the appropriate level.
  • Support fleet changes identified, ensuring all relevant actions are completed and communicate this accordingly.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance detail to ensure adherence to legal compliance i.e., scheduling, MOTs and servicing.
  • Coordinate and support repair and maintenance requirements for Transport Fleet operations in line with legal compliance and regulation.
  • Collate and present necessary Transport information to the Planning Team via the Management Information System.
  • Work as part of the wider operational team to identify and suggest process improvements.
  • Support compliance to the Transport Operation plan and escalate any non‑compliance to Line Manager.
  • Support site specific projects or a lead focus area, as directed.
  • Assist with other administrative duties where necessary.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is accurate to enable a smooth transition to fleet between depots.
  • Support end product equipment leasing and hiring.
  • Communicate in a timely and effective way, using a variety of methods including telephone, face to face, Microsoft Teams or email.
  • Use a variety of systems to produce and maintain accurate Transport information.
  • Liaise with external functions i.e.; Agencies and Suppliers to achieve Transport objectives and operational plan.

  • Previous experience within a fast paced transport operation.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of relevant legislation and works within site compliance e.g., Drivers hours and working time directive.
  • An understanding of the Transport function and how these feeds into a Distribution network.
  • Computer literacy and be able to use a range of systems and platforms including Microsoft programmes, Yard and Microlise.
  • An awareness of health and safety regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Resolve short term issues at pace and escalate broader or more complex issues to Line Managers.
  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
