We’re working with a leading technology business developing advanced workforce management solutions used by major employers across the UK. They’re now looking for a Product Development Lead to help shape the next generation of their platform and guide its technical evolution.

This is a senior strategic role where you’ll define direction, oversee architecture, and drive technical excellence across a modern Java and AWS environment. You’ll provide hands‑on leadership when required but your focus will be steering product development, influencing engineering standards, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and fit for purpose.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end development lifecycle from design through to delivery
  • Define technical direction and architecture across Java and AWS services
  • Drive best practice across TDD, CI/CD, and scalable API design
  • Collaborate with Product, DevOps and QA teams to align technical delivery with business goals
  • Guide technical change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support and mentor engineers, fostering a high‑performance culture

  • Strong experience in backend software development with Java and AWS
  • A proven track record in leading product development or technical strategy
  • Expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservice architecture
