This role is being advertised by Brightwork for our client in the East Lothian Area, recruiting temporary HGV Driver / Loaders for their Waste and Recycling site.
Your Time at Work
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 07:15 - 15:45 and Friday 07:15 - 13:45. Flexibility is required to start earlier or finish later.
Responsibilities
- Collecting and sorting waste and recyclable materials across East Lothian.
- Working as part of a crew to collect a range of waste and recycling.
- Supporting depot operations such as cleaning vehicles and workspaces.
- Working with a team following pre‑planned routes to collect from sites, including loading and unloading vehicles.
- Completing the relevant paperwork on collections.
- Ensuring safe loading and unloading while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Adhering to all H&S and Waste Management regulations.
- Following all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Desired Qualifications / Skills
- Able to carry out manual tasks.
- Knowledge of the East Lothian area is advantageous.
- Ability to follow instructions and use initiative.
- Experience in waste management is desirable.
- Flexible regarding core and additional hours.
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent).
- HGV driving experience required.
- Up to date CPC hours.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
