Brightwork’s client has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Despatch Manager who will work within their high-volume, fast paced FMCG facility. You will coordinate outbound logistics, warehouse operations, and transport loading. The role ensures chilled meat products are accurately picked, packed, and shipped to major retail and wholesale customers while meeting strict food safety and delivery deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing all operational activities to ensure the highest standards of service provision are delivered at all times.
- Leading and managing all operational activities to meet company targets in relation to quality, delivery and cost.
- Working closely with all internal and external stakeholder groups to ensure continuous improvement activities across warehouse and associated operations.
- Manage and control materials supply ensuring consistent availability to meet all operational requirements.
- Ensure the highest standards of work environment and health and safety is maintained at all times.
- Logistics Control: Manage daily transport schedules, vehicle loading, and dispatch sequencing.
- Stock & Cold Room Integrity: Oversee accurate stock rotation, palletisation, and storage conditions.
- KPI & Cost Management: Monitor departmental targets, reduce product damage or shrinkage, and control operational costs.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain full adherence to food hygiene regulations, health and safety laws, and retailer codes of practice.
- Team Leadership: Direct warehouse and dispatch staff, manage shift rotas, and handle onboarding or training.
Experience
- Experience managing all areas of Warehousing and Logistics operations within a high-volume environment (preferably food background).
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in leading and managing volume warehousing operations.
- Skilled in Microsoft packages.
