Are you a driven Business Development / Area Sales Manager with experience in industrial, manufacturing or distribution environments? Due to continued growth, our client are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to develop new business opportunities and expand existing customer relationships across the North East.
The Role
This is a customer-facing sales position focused on identifying and securing new business while maximising opportunities within existing accounts. Working closely with internal teams, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales process from prospecting through to quotation, negotiation and account development.
Responsibilities
- Developing new business opportunities across the territory
- Managing and growing existing customer accounts
- Building long-term relationships with decision makers
- Conducting customer meetings and site visits
- Preparing and following up quotations
- Identifying profitable sales opportunities and maximising margins
- Working closely with internal sales and operational teams to deliver excellent customer service
- Supporting targeted marketing and LinkedIn outreach campaigns
- Monitoring market activity and competitor movements
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and sales reporting
About You
We're keen to speak with commercially focused sales professionals who have experience selling into industrial or B2B environments. You will ideally have:
- Proven success in a field sales, business development or account management role
- Experience within industrial supplies, manufacturing, distribution or a related sector
- Strong prospecting and new business generation skills
- Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities
- Commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and margin growth
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage your own territory
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence
