This role is being advertised by Brightwork who are recruiting for our client site based in Dufftown and we require a temporary Sous Chef for 3 months (could be longer). We are seeking an experienced Relief Sous Chef to support our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef with a strong fine dining background to work within a small, dedicated team in a distinctive environment.

Your Time at Work

This role is 38 hours per week working on a rota of 5 days over 7 (so will include weekends on a rota basis).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Assist with menu execution using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  • Lead and organise the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
  • Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and food safety regulations.

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in high-end fine dining restaurants.
  • Strong technical skills and a passion for high-quality, well-presented dishes.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team.
