Our client is currently recruiting a SHEQ Advisor who will collaborate closely with the SHEQ Manager in developing and implementing effective and achievable HSE plans, systems, processes, and procedures. You will actively contribute to the SHEQ department's support and assistance within our client's industrial plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Visiting each depot and, where applicable, transient activities on a minimum weekly basis, checking compliance on items such as fire, first aid, housekeeping, risk assessment, PTW, equipment inspections, and the like.
  • Recording and reporting on any non-conformances and hazardous conditions identified, and in collaboration with the relevant stakeholder ensuring the timely actioning and follow up of any required improvements.
  • Planning, booking and coordinating all audits and accreditations (internal & external) activities.
  • Carrying out internal audits of compliance duties and inspection readiness for each ISO standard held or aspired to for each depot and division assigned to them, ensuring any findings or recommendations are actioned.
  • Supporting the SHEQ Manager in conducting regular reviews on health and safety policies, and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate. Candidates who have achieved the IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) will be considered with the provision that successful completion of the NEBOSH General Certificate is achieved within their first year of employment.
  • Minimum experience with operational safety including completion of risk assessments and procedural documentation.
  • Experience and knowledge in incident investigation and root causal analysis.
  • Good knowledge of HSE legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with an excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Teams.
  • Full UK Licence.

Full-time role based in Carryduff with regular travel to Downpatrick site. 40 Hours.
